Bitzamp the spare parts practice amplifier
A collection of bits from components draws and Wombled items, made into a little practice amplifier.

My collection of guitar amplifiers was stolen, leaving me needing a small practice amplifier. I had a 6" car speaker that used to be part of another project ( A modified "Google Home"" we called Gobby!). I also had a little TDA2030 amplifier kit hanging around. My wife had a wooden hobby craft box large enough to hold the speaker.
I painted the box red and lined it with aluminum tape. I assembled the little TDA2030 kit, which is configured for a 12V DC single ended supply. Fortunately, I had a Wombled a 12 Volt 2 Amp power supply that I used to power the amplifier.
Originally I intended on incorporating an active mixer, however I found an eight channel, 2 output mixer for less money then I could buy the components. Also there is little room for a mixer section. Instead I elected to add a passive tone control section. The 47K Ohm logarithmic potentiometers are non matching as they are from a bag of mixed components I purchased many moons ago. The entire amplifier is built form stuff that was hanging around, with the exemption of the red paint, which I bought for the project.
I 3D printed the face plate to hold the input and output jacks and the tone control. I cut a slot in the case to allow the components to slide through. The assembled face plate is then screwed to the case. I only have a a one color 3d printer currently , so the text for the front plate was done by printing embossed with black filament (PLA) for a few layers, then manually changing the filament to red for the remainder of the print. i reversed the print order for the little Bitzamp plaque.
The shafts of the potentiometers were non matching, I did not have a suitable knob for all of them, so again I turned to the 3d Printer. The knobs I created in tow sections. The knob itself I printed in black and a red press fit cap. This made it easy to print and mean I can print more knobs for other projects but change the cap colour to suit.
